Hi world out there, It's nice to get a bit of inspiration from other people so I want to tell you about a guy who inspired me this week. He didn't just inspire me, from one post on facebook he got me to address my way of thinking rather a lot. I've always been a guy, I'm afraid to say, that has needed pretty instant results to validate my choices and decisions. This has led me to, at times, become despondent and disillusioned when instant results didn't come. I was terrible for this when I was in my teens, always looking for the instant millionaire idea. I've tried in recent years to shift this but with things like business and body image, if its not happening quickly and I'm not seeing results by the end of the day, or by the end of a workout, then the wave of despondency and disillusionment washes over. We all have our weaknesses don't we. On wednesday a friend of mine posted on facebook a picture of himself taken last weekend. It was of him shirtless, ooo I say!, and showed him lean and in very good shape. He also explained why he had posted this picture. It was not to show off to everyone how he was in good shape but to inspire people. He had been in pretty bad shape six years ago and had then made a choice, a determined decision, to change this about himself and then six years on he is looking like this. It's the six year part that has truly inspired me. If he could take time and do things gradually but with great results then so can I. Things very rarely happen in an instant but if you take a step each and every day and stick with your decision then it will happen and the results will create happiness in your world. This has honestly added to me as a person so my gratitude goes out to Paul. He's likely inspired lots of people with that post and I'm pleased that one of them was me. Stay focused everyone and of course stay happy. Love always from this wonderful corner of Devon Sean x |
